Leading housebuilder has won the prestigious Best Interior Design award at the 2011 What House? Awards for its flagship King’s Island development in Uxbridge.
Launched in March 2011, King’s Island is a unique, private gated island development of 24 three and four-bedroom conversion and new build family houses and 127 one and two bedroom conversion and new build apartments and penthouses, surrounded by the Grand Union Canal and River Colne.
Weston Homes also scooped the Silver for Best Medium Housebuilder and King’s Island further impressed in the Best House category and was awarded the Silver plaque Award.
The Best Interior Design award recognises the importance of design, furnishing and specifying show homes. A panel of judges, ranging from property writers to industry specialists, awarded Weston Homes a Gold Standard plaque as Best Interior Design for King’s Island.
The What House? Awards judges praised the overall attention to detail and use of quality material, in particular the use of solid wood floors and doors throughout, and craftsman-like joinery and cabinetry and quality appliances. Space was well planned, with very effective use of terraces to entrance circulation and enjoyment of the outside views.
Bob Weston, Chairman and Chief Executive of Weston Homes, comments: “To win such a prestigious award for Best Interior Design at the What House? Awards is a fantastic accolade and recognises some of the finest luxury finishes available on the market today at King’s Island.
“The new build apartments at King’s Island offer a blend of modern architecture and sympathetic renovation and a level of comfort and style that will last long into the future.”
The awards, in their 30th year, are recognised in the housebuilding industry as the most prestigious and longest established New Homes awards, acknowledging the achievements of housebuilders and developers of all sizes. The awards were presented at a Gala Presentation Luncheon at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on Friday 18th November.
