Weston Homes Sponsor the 20th Annual Golf Day at the Stoke by Nayland Hotel with all proceeds going to local charity St Clare Hospice

Weston Homes is proud to support the 20th annual Golf day at the Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf and Spa on Friday 12th September. The Essex based developer has been supporting this important fund raiser for the last 13 years and in that time has raised in excess of half a million pounds, for St Clare Hospice.

The annual charity day will commence with breakfast, followed by an entertaining day of golf played on one of two excellent courses and an evening of fine dining and entertainment, including a prize giving ceremony and auction, all for a very worthy cause.

Bob Weston, CEO of Weston Homes commented: “Both myself and all of Weston Homes are proud to support this fun event for an exceptional cause. The work of St Clare Hospice is immeasurably important within Essex and that we are able support it with an event like the Golf Day is even better.”

St Clare Hospice provides specialist care for people living with terminal or life limiting illnesses, providing physical, social, psychological and spiritual support. With its team of specialist Nurses, Doctors, Therapists, Social Workers and Counsellors, St Clare Hospice cares for people aged 18 or over across West Essex and the borders of East Herts and regardless of gender, race, religion or belief.

Tanya Curry, CEO of St Clare Hospice commented: “We are extremely grateful to Weston Homes for their generous support of St Clare over so many years. Our services are completely free of charge to patients and their families, but only 30% of our funding comes from the NHS, so every year around £2 million has to be raised. It is only with the support of loyal friends like Weston Homes that we are able to sustain and grow our services to ensure we continue to be there for local people now and in the years to come.”

The Golf Day will be held at the Stoke by Nayland Hotel, over two award-winning courses called the Constable and the Gainsborough. The evening’s entertainment will be provided by Adger Brown, a well-known and well-travelled comedian and compere. The team competition is played as a Stableford Competition with the overall best score being rewarded with the Daniel Robinson trophy.

Previously, funds from the event have been used to support the St Clare “Space to Breathe” refurbishment programme, which, when allied to an expansion in the Hospice’s community services, has allowed St Clare to reach more people than ever before.
