Peter Gore Becomes New CEO of Weston Group Plc, The Volume Housebuilding Business founded by Chairman Bob Weston

Leading volume housebuilder Weston Homes is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Gore as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Weston Group Plc.

Weston Group operates several businesses comprising Weston Homes (volume housebuilding), British Offsite (MMC and offsite manufacturing), Weston Business Centres (serviced offices), Stansted Environmental Services (environmental and safety consultancy) and Weston Logistics (construction plant hire and warehousing).

In his new role, Peter Gore will work closely alongside Bob Weston, Chairman of Weston Group Plc and the board of directors. Peter Gore joined the company in 2021 as Group Operations Director for Weston Homes, helping to support and strengthen business operations and assisting with the delivery of several new landmark schemes.

Peter Gore joined Weston Homes from Taylor Wimpey London where he had worked for three years as Managing Director. Peter had previously worked in senior delivery and construction director roles at Barratt Homes and Mount Anvil.

In his new role Peter Gore will work across the group to ensure product delivery and quality, staff team building and development, exemplary health and safety standards and outstanding customer satisfaction.

Earlier this year Weston Homes announced it will launch and develop an additional £315 million in five new residential schemes during 2024, providing almost 900 more new homes across London and the South-East. These five new projects, which are now already underway, are Tayfen Court in Bury St Edmunds, Brentwood CentralTown Quay and Jasper Wharf, both in Barking, and Bracknell Beeches in Bracknell.

Three further projects have also achieved planning already this year, offering another 700 homes to its pipeline. All three of these sites are located in Essex – Stanway, Epping and Takeley.

Over the latest operating year Weston Homes achieved 872 legal completions (118 more than the previous financial year), and also completed the build of over 1,000 homes.

Peter Gore, Chief Executive Officer at Weston Group Plc says: “I am delighted to be stepping into a new role as Chief Executive Officer and  driving the group’s diverse range of business activities. Despite an extremely challenging economic climate, with squeezed margins, rising build costs, and a constrained mortgage market, the business continues to make headway and we look forward to launching a series of significant new residential development schemes with others in the pipeline.”

Bob Weston, Chairman of Weston Group PLC says: “Over the last three years Peter Gore has added fantastic value and insight to our housebuilding business and we are pleased to appoint him to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Peter is dedicated, extremely hard working and results driven. He is an excellent and highly able CEO for our business.”

Founded in 1987 by Chairman Bob Weston, Weston Homes is now one of the leading developers of quality homes in the South-East of England. For two years in a row Weston Homes has been the winner of the prestigious top Gold Award for Best Medium Size Housebuilder at the annual 2022 and 2023 WhatHouse? Awards for its commitment to designing and delivering environmentally sustainable projects. Weston Homes has also won the First Time Buyer Magazine Private Developer of the Year award for the last two years, in 2022 and 2023, which is an award voted for by readers/members of the general public.
