Whizz Pop, Whizz Bang As Weston Homes Takes You To Dream Land With ‘The BFG’ At Nightingale Rise

Leading developer Weston Homes has unveiled a newly dressed show house in Nightingale Rise, which features a magical ‘The BFG’ themed kids bedroom, based on the movie release of Disney’s adaptation of The BFG (2016). Produced by Steven Spielberg, the Roald Dahl classic tells the story of Sophie who strikes up a friendship with a 24-foot big friendly giant.

Nightingale Rise is a development of 49 homes, offering one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses. The development is positioned on Morton Road, within the heart of the historic market town of Buckingham. ‘The BFG’ room has been designed as a fitting tribute to famed novelist Roald Dahl, who lived and wrote locally in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.

‘The BFG’ bedroom has been decorated with a feature wall depicting the BFG holding the character of Sophie in his palm, among other knowing nods to the film and story, which has been carried over to the bedding and its ‘dreams’ design. The bed has been dressed with a BFG toy and a series of Roald Dahl books. To the corner of the room, is a feature wardrobe with an array of ‘dream’ scrolls, and to either side of the bed are ‘The BFG’s’ suitcases (night stands) and bespoke lamps.

Bob Weston, Chairman and Founder of Weston Homes commented: “This bedroom is what dreams are made of. As a local legend, Roald Dahl’s stories have fuelled the imaginations of many generations, and so it was a joy to recreate the magic in our development. All families who have visited the Nightingale Rise marketing suite have been whizzpopping about this room, allowing Dahl to live on in his beloved Buckinghamshire.”

Nightingale Rise is located in a private enclave minutes from the centre of town, offering a timeless feel that compliments the market town surroundings. Designed to combine the local Buckingham vernacular with the best in contemporary design, the houses have contrasting brick and render facades with features including undulating roofscape, feature brick chimneys, dormer windows and canopy style entrance porches. The result is a high quality collection of homes that compliment their surroundings and exude the best in local architecture style and modern design.

The houses are positioned over three floors, with spacious reception area, living area and separate kitchen/dining area. Each master bedroom comes with en-suite bathroom. The apartments contain an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with the master bedroom consisting of fully fitted mirrored wardrobes.

Residents of the houses can enjoy the outside patios/decks, which are suitable for both outdoor entertaining or simply relaxing in the surroundings. There is allocated parking for some of the houses – including garages, carports and an undercover parking area exclusively for residents.
