Architectural Technicians

Weston Homes Plc are looking to recruit Architectural Technicians to join our Technical team at our Head Office in Takeley, Essex (Near Stansted Airport).

Ideally we are looking for people with previous residential experience, although we will consider candidates with other experience provided they can demonstrate the ability to detail, are familiar with using Auto-cad, hold a HND Building Studies or equivalent and have knowledge of building regulations.

You will have a proven track record in the production of working drawings and detailing, be well organised and an effective team player. You will be working in a modern office environment in teams, providing specifications, full working drawings and technical support on a range of innovative, new build bespoke schemes, conversions and some mixed use developments.

Project Manager

Weston Homes Plc are looking to recruit a Project Manager to join our busy Construction Team based at our development in Cambridge.

The successful applicant will have previous experience as a Construction Project Manager, have excellent time management, organisational and multi-tasking skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must have experience of multi-storey developments, RC frame and refurbishment and conversion. Previous residential experience, knowledge of the construction industry and a full driving licence are essential.

As a Project Manager you will control the day to day running of the project, read and understand drawings and detailed specifications, have coordination of the entire site, subcontractors, contractors, suppliers and deliveries and monitor and report cost control.

Customer Service Manager

Engineering Workshop Caretaker

Weston Homes Plc are looking to recruit an Engineering Workshop Caretaker on a part-time basis at our recently established workshop in Takeley, Essex.

The Engineering Workshop Caretaker’s main duties will be to organise and maintain a new motor vehicle engineering, fabrication and machine shop.

The role will include organisation of the workshop, including racking and sorting of fixings, tooling & parts and stock taking of materials. Once the workshop is organised, the role will include maintenance of machines, purchasing, tidying and continued organisation of the workshop.

The successful candidate will have experience and understanding of various engineering machines and tooling. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are key to the role. Candidates must be flexible, reliable and able to work independently.

The hours are 16-20 per week and the ideal candidate will be able to work occasional Saturdays when required.

Operations Manager

Weston Logistics are looking to recruit an Operations Manager based at our Plant Yard in Takeley, Essex.

Weston Logistics supply plant, equipment and materials to all Weston Homes developments. This includes forklifts and other mechanised plant, site offices and cabins and is also responsible for taking delivery of, storing and the distribution of, a range of goods which are brought in from Europe, Dubai and Asia. This includes tiles, stone, sinks, brassware and other components.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the Weston Logistics subsidiary business. The role also includes developing cost control, analysis and reporting systems and strategic planning of plant, equipment, materials and resources to meet future growth plans.

Previous plant management experience is essential and knowledge of warehousing, distribution and stock control would be an advantage. Leadership/management capability are important together with strong communication skills and sound financial acumen.

International Buyer

Weston Homes Plc are looking to recruit an International Buyer to join our busy Buying team based at our offices in Takeley, Essex.

Weston Homes continually strive to enhance their specification by researching and sourcing products directly from the Far East.

The International Buyer is responsible for purchasing and supplying fixtures/materials, ensuring a consistent supply to meet demand. As well as buying in existing fixtures, the role includes exploring new products and suppliers to enhance our range.

The successful candidate would ideally have previous experience in a similar role and a relevant degree is desirable however, role specific training can be provided. The ability to speak Mandarin is essential and Cantonese would also be useful. A good cultural understanding and some familiarity with business practices in the Far East would be beneficial. Attention to detail, strong communication skills and a methodical mind set are key. The role may include some travelling abroad.
