Senior Manufacturing Buyer

Due to growth, we have a brand new opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Buyer to join our Commercial Department at British Offsite.  It’s an exciting time to join us, with external projects kicking off later this year, you will be involved in Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Defence and Education projects and you will be a part of the journey from the outset. 

You will proactively lead in the material requirements and planning of materials required to support British Offsite’s manufacturing and distribution of construction materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Procurement of materials and supplies from the UK and Far East.
• Negotiate and manage any suppliers contracts via Far East consultancies in order to achieve the most commercially viable supply.
• Analysis of previous selling patterns and forecasting forward demand, utilising report systems to ensure stock levels are in line with sales forecasts and ensuring timely and cost effective procurement of goods.
• Compile and distribute enquiries to relevant suppliers in order to obtain prices/rates for required materials/services as per contract documents.
• Monitor and develop supplier performance on delivery, quality & cost.
• Compile monthly cost reports, individually for each contract.
• Attend weekly internal project team meetings to update on site-specific procurement activities and to ensure any purchasing related issues are tabled.
• Attend weekly build sales meetings to discuss risks with senior management.
• Effective management and development of all direct report employees aligned with organisational strategy, culture, values and HR practices.
• Any other duties commensurate with this post.

As a successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years working in a similar role.
• Previous experience of window and patio door procurement would be beneficial.
• Previous experience of procurement from the Far East would be beneficial.
• Effective Supplier Management and Relationship building
• Ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively.
• Strong commercial acumen.
