Weston Homes is delighted to announce the sponsorship of the Colchester United first team home shirts. The developer has agreed to sponsor the team’s shirts for a further three seasons, having already supported the Club for the last two, marking a total of five consecutive seasons of sponsorship.
The agreement with the Club was announced on Monday 6th April 2015 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, as Colchester United FC took on Barnsley in their latest league match.
Bob Weston, CEO of Weston Homes commented: “We have been a proud supporter of Colchester United for many years and we are delighted to sponsor the team kits for the next three seasons. Colchester has a fantastic community spirit and the Community Stadium is at its heart. We are delighted to provide continued support to the team and the local community.”
Michelle Tricker, Head of Sales at the football club said: “We are grateful to Weston Homes for their continued support not only at this present time in League One, but also well into the future.
“Weston Homes have shown strong support for what the club is trying to achieve with its plans for the future in both the football side and in our efforts to work in the local community alongside our flourishing Football in the Community Programme.
“The Weston Homes Community Stadium forms an integral part of the local community and we are delighted that this is recognised by a developer who has also played a key role in the community by providing high quality homes to the local market.”
The Weston Homes Community Stadium opened in 2008 and is not just a hub for football, but is also a hugely successful events and conferencing venue with activities taking place on a daily basis.
Weston Homes is responsible for Hawkins Wharf, a luxury selection of apartments which overlook the River Colne in Colchester. The development has proven popular with those from the local community who were looking to get a on the property ladder, downsize or own an apartment in a commutable location. The development has undergone a five year construction programme and now just a few apartments remain for sale.
