Leading housebuilder Weston Homes and their interior design consultancy Blocc Interiors have used standard and bespoke Minion merchandise, mini-figures and themed accessories in order to create a striking children’s Minion bedroom that is entirely themed and dressed with the famous yellow products.
The brightly-coloured room, which has been created entirely out of yellow, blue and white Minions themed merchandise, is on show at the company’s marketing suite for its Nightingale Rise development of 49 family houses in the village of Buckingham in Buckinghamshire.
The bedroom also features a host of Minion-themed memorabilia, including a Minion Bean Bag and Minion action figures.
The conventional, standard child’s bedroom has been completely disregarded and replaced with a room of colour and vibrancy. The end result is a striking, uplifting and exciting children’s space which captures everyone’s imagination. The bedroom contains a feature wallpaper of the main characters – Bob, Stuart and Kevin. Even though the room is clustered with Minions, just like the films, the room has ample room for children to play and let their imaginations roam free. Every piece of furniture is either yellow or blue, mirroring the colours of the fun-loving little characters.
Bob Weston, Chairman & Managing Director of Weston Homes said: “The Minions is a global phenomenon loved by children of all ages, whose appetite for the brand is fed by the new Hollywood movie, mini-figures and computer games. The houses at Nightingale Rise are perfect for families and over 50% of the visitors to the development have been families who are enchanted with the Minions themed room. It has definitely helped play a role in our success at promoting the houses to families with children.”
These themed rooms are not to unfamiliar within a Weston Homes Show Home as in previous years, the interior teams have created a Lego-themed room and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles room in Markyate, Hertfordshire and Clavering, Essex respectively, which were very popular amongst families looking to purchase a property.
Minions is a 3D computer-animated family comedy film, serving as a spin-off and prequel to the Despicable Me franchise. There have been two films featuring the Minions in 2010 and 2013. The film has grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide (‘outgrossing’ each of the Despicable Me films), making it the 11th highest-grossing film of all time, the 2nd highest-grossing animated film, and the highest-grossing non-Disney animated film.
Prices at Nightingale Rise start from £190,000 for a one bedroom apartment, two bedroom apartments commence at £250,000 and three bedroom houses start at £385,000. The marketing suite is open to visitors seven days a week from 10am to 5pm daily. People interested in purchasing are invited to contact Weston Homes and book an appointment to tour the new development.
